Preperation and Submission:

Instructions for Authors


  1. ORIGINAL ARTICLE:
    Submission of manuscripts represents a certification by the author that the manuscript is an original work. Therefore neither the manuscript nor its version has been submitted elsewhere, and that the same has not been published elsewhere.

  2. COPYRIGHT:
    The manuscript will contain no material from other copyrighted works without the written permission of the copyright owner(s) of such materials. The author will at his/her sole expense obtain and bear all costs for such permissions for textual materials, line art, and photographs to be included in the manuscript and delivered all such written permissions to the Editor-in-Chief along with the manuscript in final form. The failure of the author to do so shall entitle the Editor-in-Chief to obtain such permission and to charge the expense incurred to the author. If your manuscript is accepted for publication after peer-review, copyright ownership of the manuscript must be transferred officially to the. However the copyright will revert back to the author when the journal issue is no longer saleable.

  3. TITLE PAGE:
    Center title at middle of page. Below title, include each author's first name, middle initial and last name. Use superscript number after each author's name to indicate affiliation and address of the author on the footnote. In multiauthored work, use additional superscript number to denote author responsible for correspondents. Acknowledgement for research support and other credits should be written as footnote on the title page. The title page should also include an abstract of no more than 200 words. The abstract must begin two lines below the name of the author or two lines below the name of the last author in a multiauthored work.

  4. MANUSCRIPT:
    • Style:
      All main headings (introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion and references) should be in bold and centered. All sub-headings should be italicized and left indented.

    • References and Citations:
      Use the examples below as guideline for manuscripts for submission:
      Author. Year. Title, Volume. (Journal article)

    • Preparation:
      Manuscripts for publication must be written on clean white 8.5" X 11" bond paper. A one-inch margin must be allowed on all four sides of the paper. All tables, figures, illustrations, etc. must be camera ready i.e. they must be cleanly typed or artistically prepared so that they can be used either exactly as they are or else cropped or scaled for reduction in size. Manuscripts must be submitted in final form on printed format (hard copy) and on floppy diskette in Microsoft Word saved in two formats – word document and rich text. Manuscripts with ancillary materials will not be accepted for review.

    • Length:
      The length of each article, including references must be no less than five pages. Manuscript shorter than five pages will be reviewed as short communication and if accepted, it will be published as such.

    • Grammar, punctuation, and inconsistencies:
      Your are responsible for preparing a clearly written manuscript of your work in scholarly English, without errors of grammar, punctuation, spelling or inconsistencies in text citation, abbreviations, terminology, statistics, numerical data and arithmetic calculations. Neither the Editor nor the Publisher is responsible for these errors if they occur. Your will read and revise the proofs of your article for the purpose of detecting printer's errors. Corrections, alterations and additions to the proofs costing in excess of 10% of the cost of the original composition will be charged to the author.

  5. REPRINTS:
    There is no page charge for articles accepted for publication. Contributing authors are entitled to three copies of the reprint of their articles. Authors are required to purchase reprints of their articles at fair market price.

  6. WHAT & WHERE TO SUBMIT:
    Submit four copies (original and three copies) of your manuscript to:
    "Safe Water 2006" Boreholes, Inc. P.O. Box 361645, Decatur GA 30036.
    • Also submit the following with your manuscript:
      • 9" X 12" self-addressed and stamped envelope with sufficient postage to ensure return of your manuscript.
      • One No. 10 (4.12" X 9.5" envelope) self-addressed and stamped envelope for use by the Editor to acknowledge receipt of your manuscript.
